We Are Working Hard To Promote National Forgiveness, Reconciliation – Fulani Leaders

Fulani Leaders under the auspices of Arewa New Agenda (ANA) rose from its United For Peace and Development Consultative Meeting held at International Conference Centre, Abuja, to declare its readiness to seek collaboration with other groups toward ensuring national forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing the wounds in the land.
The Convener of the Group, Sen. Ahmed Abubakar MoAllahyidi, the development became necessary in the overall interest of national development envisioned by President Bola Tinubu’s led Federal Government.
According to the Lawmaker, “following the intensive discussions held today among the representatives of Fulbe leadership (The Ardos) from all the States of the federation, the zonal and national leadership, the Fulbe community has agreed to strategically position as an ethnic group to make its most effective contributions to national development.
“The Fulbe through its national leadership did engage in sensitisation and mobilisation towards a peaceful 2023 elections that ushered in the current administration of President Bila Ahmed Tinubu.
“The Fulbe, therefore views its position in national discourse as not only important but strategic in a manner that calls for greater cohesion and solidarity to contribute to the peace process in Nigeria.
“The Fulbe is very much aware that the current situation in the country calls for a concerted effort from all and sundry; therefore, the agreement to develop the strategy of bringing all Fulbe together to use a traditional approach that is rooted in the culture of the people call HOMBUDU to reorient the Fulbe tribe, especially its youth women and men.
“This key agreement is predicated on the knowledge that Fulbe is by nature peace-loving people who will not be found anywhere near violence or crisis.
“Unfortunately, many of our young people are driven by modernity to abandon the age-long social tradition of being peace-loving and promoting peace.
“So much has happened in the recent past in Nigeria that has pushed the country into violence and this needs to be curtailed and stopped.
“The Fulbe is seeking local workable solutions from within and will be reaching out to other interest groups to promote national forgiveness, reconciliation and heal the wounds that have been inflicted on our great country Nigeria.
“The series of activities scheduled for this national healing will happen in all the States of Nigeria and this is hoped to be the landmark historical event championed by the Fulbe as solutions within”, he explained.
