Top Army Officers’ Wives Reach-out To Fallen Heroes’Wives In Kaduna
President, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Ummu Kulthum Tukur Buratai on Thursday restated the commitment of the association to take care of the welfare of wives of slain soldiers.

She stated this in Kaduna while donating relief materials to widows of the fallen heroes at One Division Garrison Barracks Kaduna.
Ummu explained that, being the beacon of hope for the less privileged, the association resolved to identify with the widows by way of alleviating their challenges occassioned by the loss of their spouses while protecting the country, calling on well meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to always come to the aid of the less privileged in the society.
Mrs Ummu Kulthum Tukur Buratai also paid a courtesy call on the General Officer Commanding One Division, Major General Faruq Yahaya where she intimated him that she was in Kaduna to commission some projects undertaken by NAOWA Kaduna branch.
She maintained that the projects will boost the main thrust of the association, which is complimenting Army’s effort in delivering viable skills and qualitative education for troops’ families.
The NAOWA President commended the GOC for his continued support towards actualizing the association’s objectives, and called on officers of the division to encourage their wives to join NAOWA and support philantropic activities towards service delivery.
Responding, the GOC, Major General Faruq Yahaya said the division has keyed into the Chief of Army Staff’s vision of barrack investment programme, where 345 youths were trained in various skills acquisition programmes to become self reliant.
He thanked the NAOWA delegation for the visit and assured the association of continued support towards the realisation of its set goals.
