Peaceful Society: Women’s voice germane – Sambo’s wife says

Wife of former Nigerian Vice President, Hajia Aminat Sambo has called on Nigerian women to add their voice to that others in peacebuilding efforts.
Amina Sambo, who stated this while featuring at the inaugural meeting of a Kaduna-based non-governmental organization called Global Peace Women (GPW) Nigeria held in Kaduna on Tuesday 21st March 2017.
The NGO is an arm of the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) that champions the message of “One Family Under God” Campaign.
The Foundation also seeks to promote the ideal to build healthy families; recognizes the indispensable value of women as daughters, wives, and mothers; uplifts the innate value of femininity; and encourages women’s transformative leadership in their families and in the greater community.
Hajiya Amina Namadi Sambo who is a member of the Global Peace Women (GPW) International Advisory Council, explained that Global Peace Women advances the vision of establishing One Family under God through women-led initiatives that will create an environment for peace to begin in the home.
She however, reminded women of their roles as mothers and guide in the families to implement solutions to common challenges.
Earlier, the Country Director Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, John Oko, noted that the Global Peace Foundation recognizes that women and their unique nature and attributes have a crucial leadership role in building peace in the family as basis of healthy societies, nations, and a prosperous and ethical world hence, Global Peace Women Inauguration in Nigeria.
In a remark, the Northern Co-coordinator GPF Nigeria, Rev. John Joseph Hayab underscores the power of women in circulating and promoting positive messages to a wider audience as illustrated in the story of Jesus encounter with the Samaritan Woman.
He stressed that women remain the carriers of good news to their children, husbands and the society as whole, therefore Nigerian women should join in carrying the message of peace across board.
In his contribution, the Northern Co-coordinator GPF Nigeria, Sheikh Halliru Abdullahi Maraya, said the GPW offers opportunity to support women with education on the value of femininity and advocacy to develop healthy families and societies.
Participants were drawn from various women groups from within and outside Kaduna state.
