NNN appoints Jacob Onjewu acting online editor

The Management of the New Nigerian Newspapers Limited, led by Alhaji Tukur Abdulrahman has appointed Jacob Onjewu Dickson as its Online Editor on acting capacity.
Appointment, which was conveyed in an internal memo of the company signed by its Assistant Personnel Manager, Amina Saidu, made available on Tuesday after decision was taken at management meeting held on Monday.
“It is hoped that you will justify the confidence reposed on you by ensuring that you give in the best.
“The management and staff wish you the best as you take up this assignment. Congratulations,” the memo which newsmen got a copy of, stated.
The memo explained that the appointment which is to take immediate effect would last for one month, while the pioneer Online Editor of the company, Alhaji Abdulazeez Ahmed Kadir is away on suspension over alleged financial mismanagement.
Jacob Dickson before this appointment, was the News Editor Sunday New Nigerian.
He joined the services of the company in September 2006 as a correspondent.
He has also garnered experience from other sources. While he was a student of the prestigious Kaduna Polytechnic, he was the Managing Editor of the institution’s publication, Kadascope Weekly.
He served as Consulting Editor of Small Business Today in 2012, Consulting Editor of SEE Magazine in 2016 and was until now, the Consulting Editor of online news site called authentic news.
NNN which has been reduced to laptop due to financial challenge is jointly owned by the 19 Northern states and the governors are making plans to modernise and reposition its operations any time soon.
