NAWOJ presents gifts to baby of the year in Kaduna

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) on Friday called on women to always avail their children for immunization to guide against identified killer diseases.
Zonal Secretary, Zone ‘A’ of the association, Hajiya Daharatu Ahmed Aliyu, made the call when she led other members of the association in Kaduna to present gift items to the first baby of the year delivered at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Badarawa in Kaduna North local government area of the state. The baby girl was delivered on January 1st, 2016 at about 2:30 hour.
According to the Zonal Secretary who made the presentations on behalf of the National President and Zonal vice President of the association, Mrs Ifeyinwa Omowole and Zainab Shuaibu Rabo Ringim respectively, children are gift from God and they deserve all the care and support.
While congratulating the 19 year old mother of the first baby of the year Hauwa’u Mohammed Musa, she emphasised the need to always thank God, adding that it was not easy to carry pregnancy for 9 months, talk more of the pains and labour of delivery.
She used the opportunity to call on other well meaning individuals and organizations in the society to always find a way of giving an helping hand to the less privilege and vulnerable in the society.
“I wish to congratulate you for a successful delivery on behalf of my national officers who I am representing here today, I pray that the child will grow to become an helper of humanity.
“I wish to use this opportunity to call on women to always avail their children for regular Immunization against any child killer disease and for other pregnant women to equally and regularly attend antenatal to know the well being of their on born babies.”
Speaking also, the former Chairperson NAWOJ of Kaduna Council, Hajiya Farida Abubakar also congratulated the mother of the new born baby and prayed God to protect and continue to provide for them their daily needs.
The Matron of the PHC Hajiya Binta Lere, thanked the women Journalists for their magnanimity and prayed God to continue to bless them.
