Kaduna Unrest: Journalists Union Declares Three Days Mourning, Prayer

Following the recent crises that erupted in Kaduna State where scores lost their lives and property destroyed, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council declared three days mourning and prayer to restore enduring peace in the state.
The body also condemned the murder of the Agom Adara Dr. Maiwada Galadima by unidentified heartless kidnappers after one week of his abduction and payment of ransom.
The Council’s Secretary, Dauda Idris Doka in a statement specifically said, the Union declared three days mourning in respect of the late paramount and peaceful leader Dr. Maiwada Galadima who struggled hard for the unity and development of his community, Kaduna state and Nigeria in general.
“The last meeting our members had with the Kate Monarch at his palace during the NUJ tour was still fresh in our memory. He departed at the time when his services needed most.
“The Union is appealing to state government and security agencies to double their efforts at ensuring that, the perpetrators of this evil act are identified and brought to justice.
“On behalf of all members of NUJ, Kaduna State council want to use this medium to condole Kaduna State government, Kajuru and Kachia LGAs, Adara Chiefdom and his family over the irreplaceable loss.
“We also appealed for peaceful coexitence among the followers of Islam and Christianity for the peace, unity and development of our dear state”, he urged.
