Member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the green chamber of National Assembly, Yakubu Umar Barde on Monday appealed to his constituents to embrace peace.
The lawmaker stated this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday.
The statement read, I, Rt Honourable Yakubu Umar Barde, Member of House of Representatives representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, wish to appeal to all my constituents and indeed all of the good people and residents of Kaduna State and environs to embrace peace and be each others keepers following the unfortunate incidence of senseless loss of lives and properties and injuries in Kasuwan Magani, Sabon Tasha, Narayi and other parts of Kaduna State.
“I am using this opportunity to commiserate with those who lost relations, friends and associates. May the souls of innocent victims who lost their lives rest in peace and may those who sustained injuries be healed.
“I call on all security agencies to intensify efforts in tracking, apprehending and bringing to justice the murderers who killed some of the aides of Agom Adara and made away with the respected traditional head of Adara kingdom and his beloved wife.
“As we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and healing for the injured, I urge residents and indigenes of Chikun, Kajuru and indeed Kaduna State whom I know to be peace loving not to allow this unfortunate incidence to provoke us to breaking laws.
“I am in touch with His Excellency, he Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai and he has assured me that government is on top of the situation and will do everything within the law to protect lives and property of all citizens who abide by the law.”
Meanwhile normalcy has been gradually returning to the state as 24hours curfew imposed by the state government was still in force.
