A fallout group of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Jamaatu Tajdeed Islam (JTI), yesterday testified against the leader of the group, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky saying he is desirous to be the only leader.
National Vice President of JTI, Malam Aminu Aliyu Gusau who stated this while giving his attestation before the Judicial Commission of Inquiry sitting in Kaduna yesterday, said El-Zakzaky wants to dominate.
Gusau continued when he said the revered leader has a big weakness of allowing his followers to take drastic decisions without his knowledge.
Gusau who is of the same brotherhood and former friend of El-Zakzaky said he splited with him when the brotherhood was growing to become a Shiite and proceeded to join JTI.
According to him, “we splitted in 1994 when I discovered the brotherhood we started is becoming Shiite. And then I went to form JTI.”
When asked to rate the conduct of the Nigerian Army in the December 12th clash, Gusau said they praise the Army for their tolerance while also admitting that the IMN don’t recognize any constitution or authority.
Contrary to submission of JTI, the Secretary General of Rasulul Aazam Foundation, RAAF and another Shiite group, Sheikh Saleh Zaria frown at submission made so far on the Shiite group without specification.
Zaria who was out to correct the impression in the commission, said there are other shiite association that are law abiding.
He continued when he said there was no where in the Shiite, that says one should not recognize authority recognized by law of the land which differentiate it among others from the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
Zaria however, frown at persons calling for the total ban of the Shiites saying it recognizes and take into cognisance of authorities whenever it holding it activities.
