El-Rufai tells retired soldiers to embark on profitable ventures

AS Nigerian Legion begun 2015/2016 Armed Forces remembrance day with launch of emblem in Kaduna, the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has charged them to look inward and embark on profitable venture that is sustainable.
The governor said the time has come for every Nigerian including those that have retired from public sphere to become job creators in order to collectively take the country to where it ought to be as largest black nation in the world.
Represented at the emblem launch by his Deputy, Arch Bala Barnabas, El-Rufail appealed to various formations in the state including both serving and retired officers and members of the public to come to the aid of the legions who has served the nation with better part of their lives.
According to him, “I want to urged the legion to look inward and establish profitable ventures to enhance the viability of their future. I want to use this medium to appeal to the state chapter to use this opportunity in ensuring peaceful co existence in the state.”
Earlier, Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Kaduna State Chapter, Col. John Tabat (rtd) pleaded with the state government to provide the legion with permanent office and operational vehicles within the state capital in order to contribute their quota to national development.
He further added that government at all levels should not hesitate to contact them whenever the need arises, saying they are more than willing to continue serving the nation even as retirees.
The retired but not tired Col. also use the opportunity to thank federal government for prompt payment of their pension, pledging their support in any capacity they can.
