A business mogul and Kaduna Central Senatorial candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election, Lawal Adamu Usman (Mr LA) has reached out to his constituents with food items.
Flagging off the distribution of the items in Kaduna on Thursday, the young politician said, the idea was to cushion the effects of stay-at-home order aiming at checking the spread of ravaging Coronavirus pandemic in the State.
He added that, 81 ward coordinators would be assigned the responsibility of distributing the food items to the beneficiaries within the identified communities and households of Kaduna Central Senatorial zone.
He lamented that the government at various levels only concentrate on placing partial travel bans, prohibiting mass gatherings and shutting down schools and offices without minding how people will survive within the period.
According to Mr LA, restricting the movement of people in the country was a serious problem especially for those who are daily earners
To him, “people here live hand-to-mouth, they have to go to work regardless of what symptoms they are showing which places another hurdle before the government lockdown.
“In this face of this reality, we as individuals are the finish responders who must turn this worry into action by setting examples for sharing responsibility for, and with one another, and giving support to others in their communities even in the face of social distancing, quarantine and fear”, he urged.
