Budgeting: PERL, Kaduna govt, others in crucial meeting

In order to adequately address issues surronding budgeting in Nigeria with particular reference to Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria, Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL) is currently championing that course in meeting with critical stakeholders.
The move the organization said is aimed at enhancing service delivery that will be beneficial to all stakeholders in the governance process.
State Team Leader of PERL, Abel Adejoh hinted that, the one day meeting was put together to among other things “facilitate the reflection by governance stakeholders on governance and service delivery processes within their location.
”Foster an appreciation of broader governance processes and reflection on experiences and challenges to enhance partnerships in and engagement of governance processes for improved service delivery.
“Documents experiences of stakeholders in engaging governance processes especially budget process.”
Issues to be discussed includes, “Engaging governance processes from identification and conception of citizens needs to its delivery and sustainability”.
Stakeholders at meeting includes, Government officials, civil society organizations, market groups, community stakeholders, the Academia, media, Non-governmental Organisations among others.
