About 200 shops gone as El-Rufai’s bulldozers hit Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai’s bulldozers on Sunday resumed demolition exercise with shops around popular printers village and government secondary school, Doka in Kaduna North Local government area of the state.
It would be recalled that El-Rufai after a court order restraining him from continuing with the exercise since August paused but resumed the exercise today.
Information gathered by our reporter, showed that about 200 shops around the government school on Muri road by Lagos street were brought down.
Some of the shop owners were seen trying to rescue and recover some of their property from the demolished structures.
According to a shop owner, simply identified as Ayo, said they were served notice in August and today they came to carry out the demolition exercise, saying “though we were allowed to carry out our things before the demolition exercise”.
It was also gathered that the demolition exercise was carried out on shops around Maiduguri road LEA and popular Obalende area in Kaduna North Local government area of the state.
