Sickle cell centre commends El-Rufai for appointing person living sickle-cell as aid

Badiyya Magaji Inuwa has expressed pleasure with Kaduna state Governor Mallam Nasir El- Rufai for appointing a sickle Cell Patient and volunteer with the Center Maryam Awaisu as one of his aides. She
made the assertion while speaking to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
Hajia Badiyya added that the Kaduna state governor has demonstrated that he is a man of his word. According to her, the governor, who was a guest at a book presentation ‘Burning Bright ‘written by Maryam Awisu.
“We thought this is yet another empty promise but two days ago I received a call from my sickler that she has been offered the job promised her by the Kaduna state governor and she has already resumed.
“I was excited because this has been one of my campaigns that sicklers should be giving equal opportunity to server their country. Mallam has shown that there is hope for sicklers in the state and as the mother of sicklers in the state I thank our governor and called on others to emulates him.” She said
In a remark, Maryam Awaisu said the governor not only gave her the job but has also redeemed his pledge to buy some copies of the books at undisclosed price.
“A Sickle cell anemia warrior 40%of the proceeds from the book presentation have been donated to the Sickle Cell Health Promotion Center Kaduna as my own contribution to others sickler
“I also like to call on my fellow sicklers that they are not push aside and the should not be limited by their health status rather they
should look inward for something they can do that will benefit human race in general and sicklers in particular and plead with those in authority to assist them to archive this.
