Sen Sani donates 500 KVA transformer to Kaduna community
Let there be light in Badarawa, a community in Kaduna North local government area of Kaduna State is what Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Shehu Sani did over the weekend when he donated a 500KVA transformer to the community after nine months of blackout.
People resident in the area said their economic activities have been grounded due to lack of electricity supply within the period of their travail.
Activist turned politician, who commended the members of the metropolitan Badarawa community for bearing the hardship and maintaining peace during the nine months blackout, did not mince words when he said the transformer has become a very critical need of the community, thus the need for intervention.
In his brief remark while presenting the transformer, the lawmaker said the intervention was a response to the call from members of the community to help.
Represented by his Special Adviser Political Matters and Ideology, Ahmed Suleiman, the Lawmaker noted that Badarawa community need the help because it is an area where small scale businesses thrives.
“By providing this 500 KVA transformer, we believe all those operating small scale businesses such as barbing, tailoring, welding and others will get back to business immediately,” he noted.
While pointing out that electricity has become a very serious need of the communities in the state, Senator Sani promised to also provide transformers to more than 200 communities within the seven local areas he represents .
Though he noted that it is not an easy task for a lawmaker, whose primary duty is to make laws to now engage in purchasing and providing transformers, he said anything that is of need to the common man in the society is paramount.
He added, “presently we have what we call ‘One thousand Power Project’ aimed at providing transformers to all communities in need.
“We have substantial transformers ranging from 50 to 500 KVA , which within two weeks would be distributed to the highly needed communities.”
He also disclosed that effort are being made through a partnership project to provide solar power as an alternative source of energy to people .
Responding, District Head of Badarawa, Alhaji Abduhameed Diwa, who could not hid his happiness commended the lawmaker for donating the transformer.
According to him, the gesture will go a long way to reduce economic hardship staring the citizens of area in face due to lack of electricity supply for nine months.
