Police confirm 32 dead in Southern Kaduna fresh attacks
Kaduna Police command on Wednesday confirmed that, 32 persons who are mostly women and children have been killed in fresh attack in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Commissioner of Police in the State, Agyole Abeh who confirmed this in a press briefing at command’s headquarters in Kaduna added that, two others were critically injured while several huts were razed within one week of the unrest.
Until now, Kajuru which is about 50 kilometres from Kaduna the state capital of the Northwestern State of Nigeria is one of the peaceful local government areas in the state.
The attack was traced to clash between youth farmers and cattle herders in the area over a suspicion of one another due to discovery of a bag belonging to a Fulani man allegedly containing military camouflage.
Between 11th and 17th July when the unrest occurred, 32 persons have been killed while the micro economy of the area has been aborted at least for now.
Police warn against given misleading information that can escalate the situation even as security operatives have been deployed to the area to put the situation under control.
Assistant National Secretary of MACBAN, Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim however sue for peace, calling on his members not to go on reprisal.
