NUJ accuses El-Rufai of causing division among journalists
Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ on Tuesday cautioned Kaduna State Governor against using divide and rule system to polarize journalists in the state, such is not expected of the governor.
The State Council make the allegation in a communique signed by its Secretary, Dominic Uzu after the Council’s congress held at state’s Secretariat on Monday.
The congress threatens to boycott any state government activities in the state including governors forum meeting in case the state government goes ahead on issue of preventing journalists from covering public assignment.
The congress in the same same vain commends the Borno State Governor and Chairman of Northern States Governors Forum, Kashim Shettima for his magnanimity and warm reception accorded journalists during the 19 Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) meeting held in Kaduna recently.
It also lauds the NSGF over its resolve to end insurgency, tackle poverty, illiteracy as well as preposition the North, urging the forum to consolidate on the success achieved during the last meeting.
Communique also acknowledged the kind gesture of Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company, KRPC, Senator Shehu Sani and Senator Danjuma La’ah for their invaluable contributions and support rendered to the union during the Abuja delegates conference.
