Northern Group Raises Alarm Over Suspicious Movement Around National Eye Centre
The Arewa Youth Movement for Good Governance on Tuesday raised alarm over suspicious activities of suspected criminal elements on encroached property of the National Eye Centre, Kaduna.
A statement by the Chairman of the group, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu revealed that, most building along the access road to National Eye Centre are not completed thereby making them a breeding abode for people of questionable character.
According to him, the purported owners were those who National Eye Centre dragged to court. Now if you pass through Eye Centre road from 8pm to 1am, you will notice strange caliber of boys and men that would scare you, smoking and taking dangerous substances suspected to be hard drugs.
“No normal human being hangs out in uncompleted building at such odd hours. Don’t they have families or houses of their own?
“We are calling on the Chief Security Officer of the State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai to as a matter of urgency rise to the defense of neighboring communities and the National Eye Centre itself. The hospital is the only hope for the commoners in Kaduna and indeed Northern Nigeria.”
He continued, “the issue of land encroachment in National Eye Centre has become bad such that even corperate companies like 9mobile have invaded and installed their mast which is already before a competent court of law.
“We hereby call on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct Inspector General of Police to fast track measures in dismantling illegal structures and arresting suspected criminals and Kidnappers”, he appealed.
