By Segun Ayobami, Kaduna

National Coordinator, Initiative for Mass Education Against Corruption (IMEAC), Elder Friday Sani says Nigerians, especially those who now occupy public offices, are afraid of stealing due to body language of President Muhammadu Buhari on corruption.

He then rallies support for this current administration in its fight against stolen of public wealth without attaching any form of sentiment.

He described the ongoing anti-graft war as a child of necessity, quickly added that in order for Nigerians to have improve life expectancy, all avenue to retrieve stolen monies should be harnessed even if it means given harmnesty to past ‘robbers’ to refund public monies in their custody.

Dr Sani, who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Kaduna on friday said, raising allegations of corruption against the leadership of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the moment will only hinder the whole process.

‎He said, “IMEAC has in the past decade been in the forefront of vigorous and robust campaigns against corruption, bad governance, insecurity, marginalisation and all social-political challenges that bedevilled our nation.

“We are approaching the fight against corruption from a multi prolonged strategy that includes; advocacy, outreach, networking, lobby, legal intrusion and moral persuasion, each being applied at different levels and pedigree of relevance.

“Corruption is a national malaise and a social plague. It brought shame reproach and disrepute to us and our nation. We must not relent in our efforts to tackle this great monster.” Sani noted.

He expressed dismay over the way both local and international media are portraying Nigeria, adding that it projects “us ‎as a people lacking in honesty and integrity “.

IMEAC coordinator however, craves the indulgence of all media stakeholders for their partnership as it remains key in actualising ‎the vision and goals of the organisation.

The Kogi born Lawmaker however warned Nigerians to avoid any form of corrupt practices that can hinder the efforts of well meaning Nigerians at restoring the old glory of the country-Nigerian for the benefit of all.
