Elders of Kauru and Lere Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, yesterday commended the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai for establishing two additional campuses of the State’s owned university in their LGs.
Briefing newsmen about the development in Kaduna, National President of the Association, Professor Yohanna Tela, said, the development gladdened the heart of their people in no small measures.
To him, education is crucial in equipping people with the right skills to find fulfilling work and become independent engaged citizens noting that, it drives innovative, economic growth and competitiveness. But Education can only play its part if it delivers good results within the reach of all.
He said, “Kaduna state government has made tremendous progress in the revitalization of the state educational sector ranging from the establishment of more educational institutions, revitalization of deteriorating educational infrastructures, recruitment and improving the quality and wellbeing of teachers and much more.
“Yet discrepancies still exist in the distribution of educational institutions between local government areas of the state particularly the tertiary institutions.
“These discrepancies is of no doubt the bases for a multi-campus structure of Kaduna state university recently disclosed by His Excellency, Nasir El-Rufa’i in some of his speeches during some important occasions to include the recent Kaduna state university combined 3rd convocation ceremony held on Saturday 8th December, 2018.
“This courageous and encouraging decision taken by the administration of His Excellency, on the creation of Kaduna state university campuses at Lere and Kauru did not only gladdened the minds of the people in these areas but is a welcome and timely development to the people of these two local government areas.
“Indeed we love and cherish the goodwill of His Excellency and promise to remain loyal and supportive to the administration for its laudable projects that has direct bearing in the lives of our people.
By this press release, the National Kauru-Lere Community Development Association wishes to reaffirm its total support and commitments in the pursuit and realization of government policies.
“To this end, we strongly recommend the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in Kauru and Lere local government areas and call on all inhabitants to remain law abiding and peaceful citizens for the actualization of more of these developmental policies.
We wish His Excellency long live, prosperity and more of this wisdom to move the state forward to a greater height.”
