The statement read, “if only women in the state will stand and take ownership, and not just sit at home and wait for positions to be taken to their doorstep.
“I’m calling on our women. This is the time, and the right one at that as mothers and wives to take that decision.
“We hope to utilize the occasion as an opportunity to engage our various women groups and the communities across the entire state and to elicit input on the key priorities for women, disadvantaged and the poor in Kaduna.
“It is envisaged that the various syndicates planned will help provide input for the Kaduna state gender strategy, indicators and targets to deliver results for women and the poor in Kaduna state.
“The Ministry is working to mainstream Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, GESI, in Kaduna State whereby every MDA has indicators and results for women, girls and the poor generally. We believe that every MDA can work for women.
“We plan to give awards to women and men who served women and have fought for the cause of women, the girl child and have impacted their communities, places of work and assignments whether in junior or senior capacities, every contribution counts.”
