Kaduna Hajj board to refund N140m to 2014, 2015 pilgrims this week

Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (KSMPWB) is to begin refunds of over N140 million to pilgrims who performed the 2014 and 2015 Hajj this week.
The new Overseer of the board, Imam Husaini Sulaiman Tsoho made this known while briefing a committee set up to ensure disbursement of the funds to the affected pilgrims in Kaduna Sunday.
A statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officcer, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi said the money was sent to the board recently by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for services not rendered by the various service providers at the Holy Land during the last year’s Hajj.
He said, each of the 2014 pilgrim will be paid N3,540, while 2015 pilgrims are to receive over twenty thousand naira as part of refunds for transportation, feeding and other services not rendered to them during the Hajj period.
Imam Husaini according to the statement said that the affected pilgrims are to contact their registration officers for screening and are expected to go to their registration centres with their International Passports that has 2014 or 2015 Hajj visa on it as the case may be as directed by NAHCON before being paid.
He however warned the registration officers to ensure all the affected pilgrims receive their refunds after full identification and urged the pilgrims to comply with the modalities of the payment for accountability and transparency.
