Kaduna Electric increase power allocation to Zamfara from 7 to 15 megawattz
By Press Release
Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has increased power allocation to Zamfara State from a paltry 7 megawatts daily to 15 megawatts daily.
This was disclosed by the Managing Director/CEO of the Company, Engineer Garba Haruna when he received the Zamfara State’s Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman in his office today.
Engineer Haruna, who was represented by the Chief Engineering and Technical Services Officer of the Company, Engineer Bello Musa assured the Commissioner that “all electrification projects executed by Zamfara State Government shall be commissioned provided they meet the acceptable standard”.
He called on Zamfara State Government to always involve the Electricity Distribution Company in all its electrification projects right from inception to avoid delay at the point of commissioning, promising to offer necessary technical assistance at no cost.
Engineer Garba Haruna also dispelled the insinuation that the Company is delaying commissioning projects executed by Zamfara State Government, asserting that “Kaduna Electric is only ensuring compliance to standard in power construction and safety guidelines as prescribed by the regulatory agencies”.
Earlier, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman solicited for the understanding and cooperation of Kaduna Electric in speedy commissioning of electrification projects executed by the State Government.
He specifically requested for the connection of Gummi, Bukuyum and Anka towns to the national grid which he said have been out of supply for some time now.
“The purpose of my visit is to forge strategic partnership with Kaduna Electric and further bridge whatever gap that existed between Zamfara State Government and Kaduna Electric for the betterment of the two parties” he asserted.
