Thousands of youths under the auspices of Kaduna Articulated and Atikucare Foundation on Tuesday stormed the Kaduna International airport to warmly welcome former Nigerian Vice President, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.
It was gathered that, Atiku was on his way to Abuja to visit President Muhammadu Buhari who just returned from United Kingdom on medical vacation but had to fly to Kaduna to proceed to Abuja today (Wednesday).
It was however not clear whether the Adamawa born political figure earlier met with the Governor of his home state Jibrila Bindow who was drove out from the airport few minutes before Atiku.
The Vice President who could not resist the youths that practically besieged the road and carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Kaduna articulated’ ”sai Atiku” “we are in your support” ”Atiku 2019” had to stopped his convoy to receive heartily cheers from his foot soldiers.
The youths equally chanted “sai kayi 2019” and accompanied the vice President’s convoy in several vehicles to his Kaduna residence where several other well wishers were on ground to welcome him.
Efforts however to speak with the Vice President at the airport and at his Kaduna residence was not successful. Meanwhile, Kaduna State Chairman of Atikucare Foundation, Ibrahim Danfulani said, they were at the airport to show their solidarity support for him.
