Gunmen killed 4, displaced 500 in Kaduna As El-Rufai sues for calm

Following the gruesome murder of four farmers on Monday evening by yet to be identified gunmen at Gurguzu village, close to Maguzawa, a suburb of Rigasa in Igabi local government area of Kaduna State, no fewer than 500 residents of the area have been displaced.
Those who were displaced are currently taking refuge at a primary school in Rigasa.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State government has asked the citizens to remain calm and go about their legitimate business, as it has launched a manhunt on the killers.
The Killing, which took place around 6:00pm on Monday, when unknown gunmen stormed a farm in the village on motorcycles and shot at people on the farm land, left our people dead why four others were critically injured.
Our Correspondent gathered that the injured victims were rushed to the hospital and were recovering.
Briefing newsmen after the state security council meeting, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operation, Kaduna Command, Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi said, who confirmed the incident said, “around 17:50, that is 5:50pm yesterday, the gunmen invaded the village on bike and killed a farmer and three other co-farmers. They injured four others and similarly many of the victims, the injured ones were rushed to the hospital.
“Immediately, we deployed our men to the area, calm has returned and our men are patrolling the whole place. Contrary to what is been circulated on the social media, this is what actually happened.” He said.
Speaking on the situation on ground, Chairman Interim Management Committee, Igabi Local Government, Jabir Khamis said about 500 people from the village are displaced and government is taking care of them.
