Former Kaduna Speaker in court over alleged criminal breach of
trust

Former Speaker of Kaduna
State House of Assembly, Alhaji Bashir Zubair Birnin Gwari has been charged
before a Chief Magistrate court, Barnawa, Kaduna South Local Government area of the state for a criminal breach of trust and intimidation.
The summons which came via a direct criminal summons issued by Abubakar
Tijani of MB Hassan and co Law Firm, a copy of which was made available to media in Kaduna, stated that sometime in 2013, the accused person fraudulently and
dishonestly appeared to be interested in purchasing C350 Mercedes Benz, which the complainant, Yahaya Muhammed entrusted with one Adamu Jibrin to sell.
The summonNumber KMD/04/DC\2016 further stated that BininGwari, a one time
sport Commissioner under Yero’s administration, promised to pay the said
Adamu the sum of N4million, but unfortunately, as the accused person got hold of the vehicle, he disappeared and make his whereabouts became
impracticable to be seen for 16 months, thereby continue using the car for campaign.
The summon partly read, “that after using the car for the said period of time and put the 350 Mercedes Benz into pleasant condition, depreciating in it value, the
accused person with intent to cause alarm to the complainant threatens the
complainant to collect the so long used car, the complainant continued demanding for his money and instructed the accused person to put the car into its earlier condition before he can collect it.
“The accused person will intend to cause the accused person injury and or annoyed the persons of the complainant, gave false information to the Divisional Police Officer
kabala Costain.
“The accused false information also
necessitated the use of thugs and hoodlums to attack his person at Excel Hotel where he lodged”
