Developing story: Unrest in Kaduna community over demolition of ex-Minister Lauretta house

Locals and business runners around Post Office area, Sabon Tasha, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State Northwest Nigeria early Friday are already counting their losses following the pandemonium that broke out over partial demolition of Green Apple building.
Locals said the property belong to a former Minister Lauretta who was abducted together with husband along Kaduna-Abuja highway sometime ago, but been managed by her son until the demolition in the structure.
On whose authority and reason was the house bulldozed is still sketchy as at now but the operation was carried out in the presence of heavily harmed security operative between 0600 hours and 0740 Friday morning.
It was not also clear whether there was quit notice before now.
The development had led to youths in the area who were possibly affected by the exercise hitting the main road and burning of disused tires as locals run helter-skelter for safety.
Some shop owners in the building say their stocks were destroyed in the process because they were caught unaware while their neighbours had shut theirs for fear of being caught in the web of violent protest that followed.
Though Police Spokesman in the state, ASP Aliyu Usman could not answer call put through to him via his mobile line, but policemen have arrived the scene to put the situation under control.
